Some weddings are all about the bride and groom and some are, simply put, a family affair. This story of Craig and Tanisha’s destination wedding to the Beautiful by Nature Turks and Caicos Islands is a special one of those. Tanisha and Craig are both US Air Force members who met on the job. They met on Tanisha’s first night of her first deployment, to be exact. Perhaps she should have known from the way he smoothly greeted her by her first name, or from how he never missed a beat in helping her settle in that week. But whether she knew it or not, traveling the world and experiencing it together was something she’d very soon be doing with Craig.
For their family however, the story was a little different. Many of them had never traveled outside of the United States. So there was a lot of thought in choosing somewhere as beautiful as Grace Bay Beach for the wedding venue. The bride and groom also knew they wanted the most talented photographers to document this special occasion. Photographing the most intimate details of the couple’s wedding day is the main goal for any professional wedding photographer. But like Tanisha emphasized in our pre-wedding consultation, priceless images of their family and friends were equally as important as those of the bride and groom’s first look, garden portraits, and candid beach moments.
Capturing the wedding day started with bridal details and bridal portraits in the suite at Royal West Indies. The luscious gardening of the resort was perfect for a private first look between the bride and groom. It was also a great time for their portraits while the bride’s hair and makeup were still fresh and dewy. Garden portraits lead smoothly into the beach ceremony beautifully coordinated by NILA Destinations. Sunny weather allowed for the floral arch to pop vibrantly against the turquoise water. It was an exciting time photographing the family after the ceremony, capturing candids of the bride and groom along the beach, and also documenting their first dance with family and friends surrounding. The evening ended with photos of the reception at twilight.
