Nimra & Ammar

Q: Let’s start at the beginning. How did you two first meet?

A: We met for the first time in Princeton, at a cute pizza shop called Jules Pizza. We had talked about pineapple and jalapeno pizza and I had to have Ammar try it for the first time! We spent over three or so hours at a pizza shop because it was safe to say, neither of us wanted the conversation to end.

Q: What makes your relationship special? Tell us some things that you both value in your time together. (example: pushing each other to new limits, love to travel, huge comic book fans, foodies, etc.) What makes your relationship unique?

A: Ammar is the most thoughtful person I know and what makes our relationship so special is creative and fun ways we find to surprise each other and appreciate one another. We both are also major foodies and love to travel so we can easily pick a place and a meal and we’ll make the most of it!

Q: How did you know your partner was the one? When did you first know this in your relationship? (these may often be the same moment, but aren’t always)

A: I knew he was the one from when we first met and we both knew it; we spent hours together and from the first time to every time after, a few hours felt like minutes when we were together. That’s how I knew he was the one.

Q: Give us all the details about the proposal. How and where did it happen? Was it a surprise? What was the planning process?

A: It was April 4, 2020 and Ammar had come to spend the day with my family and after lunch he asked if I wanted to get some coffee at one of my favorite spots, the Jersey City Waterfront that overlooks downtown Manhattan. We had been there so many times now that I did not suspect a thing, and when we set up to take a “picture” which later turned out to be a video recording for our family, mid video, he bent the knee!! Best surprise ever!

Q: We’re all about the bling… Tell us all about that ring!

A: Ah, where do I begin! Ammar designed the perfect ring, down to the very cut, sparkle, and shape. It is an emerald cut that sits perfectly on four prongs with diamonds around the band.

Q: What are you most excited about when it comes to your wedding planning?

A: The most exciting part of wedding planning, aside from counting the days until our wedding, is seeing both of our visions come to life through details of our cultural background that we incorporate within each of the festivities!
