Sonia and Ryan met while they were both studying at UBC and were working on earning their undergrad degrees. After five years, and after the pair lived in four different cities in two different countries, Ryan finally asked Sonia out! Eight months later, Sonia returned to Vancouver and said yes!
An adventurous couple, Ryan and Sonia are always looking for new things to do. Every Sunday, the couple finds a coffee shop and takes time to catch up on each other’s week. From there, they look for a fun activity to do together.
The couple has also gone on more “official” adventures. Once, they travelled through Columbia for a few weeks and visited Bogota, Medellin, and Cartagena. While there they hiked in lush tropical forests, met amazing people, and ate everything they could get their hands on.
Sonia was caught completely off guard when Ryan proposed. He first surprised her with a planned out trip to Hawaii. On their second day, they rented a car and traveled to the North Shore. When they stopped at Halona Blowhole (a beautiful lookout), Ryan took a knee and popped the question!
Sonia and Ryan’s helicopter engagement session took place in December in beautiful Squamish. The weather was wonderful and Sonia and Ryan were so excited! On top of their general excitement for the day, it was their first helicopter flight ever!
It was warm and sunny – perfect day for Squamish helicopter engagement photos. We met with the couple at the Squamish Heliport. After a safety briefing we took a short scenic flight up to the mountains. We landed in an amazing spot among the mountains with a beautiful view of Serratus glacier. They were absolutely amazed when they saw the beautiful scenery! After that we had a chance to do a second landing in the Tantalus Range Mountains.
Wow… what can we say? This Squamish helicopter engagement session was amazing! The couple, the scenery, the weather, the mood – everything was stunning! Sonia and Ryan were so easy to work with. Their true love mixed perfectly with the excitement about their adventure – you can see it all in their eyes and smile.
And of course we can’t not mention Sonya’s dress by Luxx Nova! It was so gorgeous! A-line style and light fabric made it easy for Sonia to move on the snow and the unique blush color with floral prints made the dress pop out on the white snow scenery. What we love the most – it was so flowy! Every gust of the wind made the skirt flow. This dress was perfect for Squamish helicopter engagement session.
